Marma points means “vital points that hold life force energy”. In Marma point massage the practitioner uses fingers and hands to press (isometric / constant pressure ) the specific point in head , face ,neck and shoulders .This massage is based on the principles of Ayurvedic and various martial art traditions. Marma massage can help: 1. In detoxifying the mind, body, emotions and spirit. 2. Relieve deep-seated tension, anxiety,emotions and psychological blocks. 3. Improve circulation and energy flow. 4. Connect the mind and physical aspects of the body & encourage self healing. 5. Improve body and self image and encourage a sense of acceptance of your body.

This therapy lasts for about 1 hour and the cost is Rs. 1500 for guests, Rs. 1125 for guests under 30 years old, Rs. 750 for Auroville volounteers, and Rs. 450 for Aurovilians & Auroville New Comers. About Bala

Balaganesh Sivaprakasam, shortly Bala, was born in a village very close to Auroville. He is a mechanical engineer turned Yoga teacher. He has a yoga alliance certificated 200 hrs YTTC in Sivananda style of Classical Hatha. Besides Sivananda style, he has been practicing and teaching Ashtanga, Vinyasa and yoga for core and movements. He volunteers in organic premaculture projects in Auroville and in his spare time runs a small NGO for the care of street dogs and learns the Kerala martial art form Kalaripayatu. He has in depth knowledge on Hindu and Tamil culture, Ayurvedic foods and a very broad knowledge on world history.
